- W1995614511 abstract "The hexagonal-layered superconductor $ensuremath{eta}text{ensuremath{-}}{mathrm{Mo}}_{3}{mathrm{C}}_{2}$ $({T}_{mathrm{c}}=8.5phantom{rule{0.3em}{0ex}}mathrm{K})$ was investigated by neutron diffraction, magnetic susceptibility, and specific-heat measurements. A significant layered character was found in the structure, which comprises edge-sharing $mathrm{C}{mathrm{Mo}}_{6}$ octahedra sheets and $ensuremath{sim}50%$ carbon occupied blocks. Magnetic characterization revealed the Ginzburg-Landau parameter of $ensuremath{eta}text{ensuremath{-}}{mathrm{Mo}}_{3}{mathrm{C}}_{2}$ is $ensuremath{sim}26$, which is close to that for the comparable ${T}_{mathrm{c}}$ compound ${mathrm{Li}}_{2}{mathrm{Pd}}_{3}mathrm{B}$ $(ensuremath{sim}21)$, but less than a half of that for $mathrm{Mg}mathrm{C}{mathrm{Ni}}_{3}$ $(ensuremath{sim}54)$. The molybdenum carbide would provide valuable opportunities to deepen understanding of those unconventional superconductors." @default.
