• W2014544380 abstract "Abstract We demonstrate the Josephson tunneling from an s-wave superconductor into the c -axis of a d x 2 − y 2 -wave superconductor can occur if multiple spin-orbit scattering occurs in the tunneling process. Singlet s-wave to triplet p-wave coupling cam always occur in the presence of spin-orbit scattering as can singlet d-wave to triplet p-wave. However, without orientation effects, the two p-wave states are orthogonal. Overall s-d coupling requires appropriate orientation or “texturing” of the intermediate p-wave order parameter. We believe that s-p mixing strongly occurs at the PbAg interface, whereas p-d mixing occurs acrossthe Ag-barrier-YBCO (YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7−δ tunnel junction in the experiment of Sun et al. Our model can account for the magnitude of the observed effect. We predict that the Josephson coupling disappears if Pb is replaced with Nb or if stress is built into the Pb counterelectrode at 45° to the CuO bond directions of the YBCO crystals. We describe a simple modification to a previous experiment that should achieve this “wrong” texture." @default.
