Plagioclase remains constant in composition but has adjusted to energy changes in textural ways. In addition, its structural state becomes slightly more disordered eastward. Homogenized microcline contains more albite in the west than the east, where albite was expelled under higher grade conditions. Bulk rock Ca/Sr ratios are constant, but K/Rb values decrease from west to east, perhaps reflecting increased tolerance for Rb.Many of the minerals present are stable over a wider range of temperature and pressure than represented by the metamorphic gradient and show little change. Textures and minor mineral changes provided evidence of progressive metamorphism, but the data show that the pluton has been subjected to progressive metamorphism from upper greenschist—lower amphibolite facies in the far west, to middle amphibolite grade in the east.
