- W2078073150 abstract "Abstract Alcohol synthesis from syngas on alumina-supported Ir Mo Na2O composite catalysts was examined. Catalyst preparation procedures, especially thermal treatment had an essential effect on the alcohol synthesis activity of the catalyst. The detailed examination of both temperature-programed thermal decomposition profiles of impregnated salt mixture and TPR profiles suggested that the critical factor is the removal of NH4NO3, formed by double decomposition between two precursor salts, NaNO3 and (NH4)6Mo7O24 (APM), at the thermal treatment stage. The effect of catalyst composition was also examined and it was found that the optimal composition of the catalyst is associated with the proper ratio of NaNO3 to APM for the stoichiometric formation of NH4NO3. The highest alcohol synthesis activity (351 g/l-cat▪h) was achieved by 3%Ir-5%Mo-1.25%Na2O catalyst." @default.
