- W2276089651 abstract "The neutron spectrum in a heterogeneous periodic assembly of two nonabsorbing moderators of different temperature is discussed. lt was assumed that both moderators could be treated by means of the heavy gas model. The neutron spectrum averaged over the region was calculated. The diffusion terms were determined from collision probabilities. The coupled system of two differential equations of the second order was solved by means of the method of the calculation of the energy moment from which the Laplace transformation of the neutron flux density could be obtained for each medium. For the neutron flux density, integral represertation and series developments were given. The effective neutron temperature in each medium could be calculated. The representation of the effective neutron temperature by means of a hypergeometric function permits a simple discussion of limiting cases. (tr-auth)" @default.
