- W2289393423 abstract "ObjectiveTo select cytokines for diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis. MethodsOne hundred and twenty kinds of cytokines were detected with protein chips among two tuberculous meningitis cases, two viral meningitis cases and two noninfectious neurologic disease cases. The results were compared among different disease groups to select the differential cytokines，which were verified among 30 persons with tuberculous meningitis, 16 persons with viral meningitis and 16 persons noninfectious neurologic disease by ELISA again to estimate the application value. ResultsEighty-three kinds of cytokines were found by protein chip and 6 kinds of differential cytokines were detected, including monocyte chemoattractant protein-2 (MCP-2), macrophage inflammatory protein-1 beta (MIP-1β), macrophage inflammatory protein-1alpha (MIP-1α), interferon gamma (IFN-γ), monocyte chemoattractant protein-3 (MCP-3) and interleukin-8 (IL-8). The results about 6 kinds of differential cytokines veryfied by ELISA showed that: the levels of MIP-1β, MCP-2, MIP-1α, IFN-γ, MCP-3 and IL-8 in the samples from the tuberculous meningitis and viral meningitis patients were significantly higher than those from noninfectious neurologic diseases. The contents of MCP-2(（18.5±6.3） pg/ml and (1.5±0.5) pg/ml）, IFN-γ(（253.3±82.5） pg/ml and (8.5±2.9) pg/ml）, IL-8(（37 135±27 193） pg/ml and (16 806±20 109) pg/ml） were significantly higher in patients with tuberculous meningitis than those in patients with viral meningitis(the t value were 2.12, 2.51, 2.03 respectively; the P value were 0.035, 0.018 and 0.024 respectively), while there were no significant difference for MIP-1β, MIP-1α, MCP-3 between the samples from the tuberculous meningitis and from the viral meningitis. ConclusionThe levels of MCP-2, IFN-γ, IL-8 in the cerebrospinal fluid are closely related with diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis.Key words: Tuberculosis, meningeal; Cytokines; Protein array analysis" @default.
