During these periods, the plant remains at rest until the beginning of spring or the rainy season. This study aimed to slow the process of leaf senescence by exogenous application of benzyladenine. The study was conducted in the experimental field of the State University of Goias, Ipameri unit, Ipameri, Goias After soil testing, fertilization was performed and the pH correction according to technical recommendations. The plants were subjected to four treatments: 0 mg L-1 benzylaminopurine (T1), 100 mg L-1 benzylaminopurine (T2), 300 mg L-1 benzylaminopurine (T3) and 500 mg L-1 benzylaminopurine (T4 ) distributed in three applications weekly (15 April 30 April and 15 May). The experiment was carried out following the randomized block design with five replications. The experimental plot corresponded to two plants. The foliar application of benzyladenine not retards senescence in plants of Jatropha curcas L.. The low temperatures are crucial for triggering the process of leaf senescence." @default.
