- W2332751282 abstract "Thirty subjects were randomly selected from the colleges located at Pudukkottai on random basis. Subjects were divided into two equal groups and designated as experimental and control groups. Their age ranged between 19 to 23 years. For experimental group fartlek training was given for six weeks. The training program was conducted fo hour, in the morning session, weekly six days. The subjects were tested on the selected dependent variables such as physical fitness and physiological variables before and after experimentation in identical condition. Analysis of covarian ce (ANCOVA) was computed separately for each variable. The level of significance was fixed as 0.05 level. Standard statistical package was used for statistical calculation. Fitness, Fartlek training and cardiovascular endurance . hysical fitness is generally achieved through exercise, correct nutrition and enough rest. It is an important part of life. These days, physical fitness is considered a measure of the body's ability to function efficiently and re activities, to be healthy, to resist hypo kinetic diseases, and to meet emergency situations. Science of sports training as a independent sports science discipline is hardly 30 years old. Before this we find theories and method of training in different sports and sports science. Physical education and theory and method of some popular sports like track and field, football, boxing, swimming etc are principal sources out of which the science of sports training developed as a training sessions can greatly help in increasing speed and endurance in runners. This is especially useful if you have reached a plateau in your training sessions. While experienced runners who are already into interval training can use Fartlek for ing their anaerobic threshold and stamina, to the running circuit can use Fartlek for helping their speed training and endurance training and for adding variety to their cardio workout program" @default.
