- W2347399084 abstract "A number of helminth parasites from bats were collected in Kiangsu and ChekiangProvinces during the years 1954-1959. The collection contains seven species belongingto the genus Pycnoporus Loss, 1899. They are listed as follows: 1. Pycnoporus heteroporus (Dujardin, 1845). 2. P. transversus Ozaki, 1929. 3. P. loossi Pande, 1935. 4. P. skarbilovichi Shaldibin, 1948 5. P. minimus, sp. nov. 6. P. magnoporus, sp. nov. 7. P. ovatoporus, sp. nov. All the species listed above are reported for the first time from China and three areconsidered as new to science. The descriptions of the new species and a key to thespecies of the genus Pycnoporus may be given below. 1. Pycnoporus minimus, sp. nov. (Fig. 1) Body broadly oval in shape, measuring 0.348-0.498mm in length and 0.143-0.182 mm in maximum width. Cuticula provided with minute spines, more conspicuousin anterior portion of the body. Oral sucker smaller than the ventral sucker, measuring0.040-0.049×0.026-0.036 mm. Ventral sucker, sac-like, measuring 0.049-0.056 ×0.042-0.052 mm, situated immediately in front of the midbody, with its opening placedanteriorly. Pharynx very short, 0.016 mm in width. Oesophagus slender, measuring0.049-0.064 mm in length. Intestinal caeca short, pouched, not reaching to ventral suckerlevel, measuring 0.050×0.022 mm. Testes oval, almost equal in size, measuring 0.068-0.075×0.056-0.068 mm, situated obliquely one after the other in 1/3 area of the hind-body. Pseudocirrus sac smaller than testes, measuring 0.038 mm in diameter, situatedimmediately before the ventral sucker. Ovary somewhat pear-shaped transversely, mea-suring 0.046-0.064 mm in length and 0.026-0.056 mm in maximum width, sitUated im-mediately at the postero-lateral portion of thc ventral sucker. Vitellaria bunch-like,situated before the testes in lateral field, each with 5-6 follicles. Uterus occupyingabout 1/2 part of hindbody. Excretory vesicle V-shaped. Eggs measuring 20×9μ. Host: Pipistrellus abramus. Location in host: Intestine. Locality: Shanghai. 2. Pycnoporus magnoporus, sp. nov. (Figs. 2-3) Body spindle in shape, measuring 1.211-1.875 mm in length and 0.332-0.481 mmin maximum width. Cuticula provided with minute spines, more conspicuous in anterior portion of the body. Oral sucker smaller than ventral sucker, measuring 0.050×0.039mm in average. Ventral sucker measuring 0.237-0.381×0.257-0.365 mm, round-sacshaped, situated almost in midbody, its opening placed on the front side. Pharynx veryshort, averaging 0.024×0.018 mm. Oesophagus slender, measuring 0.282-0.581 mm inlength. Intestinal caeca short, sac-like, not reaching ventral sucker, measuring 0.128-0.181×0.049-0.085 mm. Testes round or oval in shape, unequal in size, measuring0.112-0.165×0.092-0.112 mm and 0.105-0.158 × 0.069-0.125 mm respectively, situa-ted in slightly oblique position. Pseudocirrus-sac smaller than testes, measuring 0.102-0.132 mm in diameter, situated just before the ventral sucker. Ovary somewhat roundor pear-shaped, measuring 0.082-0.148×0.082-0.115 mm, situated in the postero-median portion of the ventral sucker area. Vitellaria, with 5-9 follicles situated beforethe testes. Uterus coiling behind ventral sucker in 1/3 part of the hindbody. Excretoryvesicle V-shaped. Eggs broadly oval in shape and light yellow in colour, measuring18×9μ. Host: Pipistrellus abramus. Location in host: Intestine. Locality: Shanghai. 3. Pycnoporus ovatoporus, sp. nov. (Figs. 4-6) Body lanceolate in shape, with the posterior end broader, measuring 0.880-1.360mm in length and 0.200-0.360mm in maximum width. Cuticula provided with minutespines. Oral sucker smaller than the ventral sucker, with diameter 0.055×0.049 mm inaverage. Ventral sucker 0.110×0.083 mm, oval-sac shaped, situated transversely in frontof midbody, its opening chiefly at the lateral side but in a few specimens at the anterioror posterior side. Pharynx very short, measuring 0.025×0.021 mm. Oesophagus slender, measuring 0.071-0.385 mm in length. Intestinal caeca short, not reaching level of ven-tral sucker, measuring 0.072-0.148×0.036-0.088 mm. T" @default.
