- W2766862550 abstract "Abstract New detection methods should be developed to detect certain obliterated writing, which cannot be detected by the conventional method. In this research, I investigate the use of middle-infrared hyperspectral imaging at wavenumbers between 4000 and 700 cm−1 (wavelengths between 2.5 and 14 μm) for this purpose. This is a promising method because middle-infrared spectroscopy in this wavelength region is one of the most effective means for distinguishing organic substances used as colorants. Characters are written on boxes using four different writing inks, selected based on the spectra measurement results. Inks are then stamped on the boxes using an information security stamp, obliterating this writing. Middle-infrared hyperspectral imaging is then performed using an infrared hyperspectral imaging system. The spectra are analyzed using the “view peak ratio” function of Spectrum Spotlight. The experimental results demonstrate that certain obliterated writing, which cannot be detected by the conventional method, can be detected by middle-infrared hyperspectral imaging." @default.
