- W2995587270 abstract "At present, the role of the banking sector has increased significantly, not only in the development of national economies, but also of the world economy as a whole. In this regard, the special importance acquires an objective comparative assessment of large financial institutions by groups indicators characterizing their financial activities. This actualizes the development of methodological approaches to analyzing the activities of banks based on the formation of ratings. In the article reviewed the features of the formation of rankings, distance and individual ratings of banks and their area of application. It is shown how with the help of computer analysis of data using the author’s methodology, it is possible to build mathematically substantiated ratings of banks that characterize various aspects of their activities, followed by an assessment of their consistency using positional analysis. The methodology is based on the metric approach, which involves assessing the similarities and differences between banks through the distance between them as points of multidimensional space. Calculations were implemented in the environment STATISTICA 10 (Tibco, USA) package. In this paper, as an example, ratings of financial capabilities and efficiency of the activities of the 30 largest banks in the world according to Forbes magazine, based on data for August 2018, were formed." @default.
