Genetic algorithmGenetic Algorithm (GA) (GA) and Simulated Annealing algorithmsSimulated Annealing Algorithm (SAA) (SAA) were used to simulate, predict, and optimize the depth of penetration of the PCGTAWPulsed Current Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (PCGTAW) process. Peak currentPeak current, base currentBase current, percent on timePercent on-time, pulse frequency, and welding speedWelding speed were taken at three different levels. With the use of GAGenetic Algorithm (GA), the optimal welding parameters were found at a peak currentPeak current of 171.802 A, pulse frequencyPulse frequency of 4.748 Hz, 40% of the time, Base currentBase current of 65.691 A, and a welding speedWelding speed of 60.001 mm/min. This combination has resulted in the depth of penetration of 4.12 mm, which is comparatively higher than the depth of penetration obtained for the SAASimulated Annealing Algorithm (SAA). Furthermore, a detailed study on the role of GA and SAA on the optimizationOptimization of the depth of penetration in ensuring the sustainability of PCGTAW is reported in this study." @default.
