- W4386432172 abstract "Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality (VR/AR/MR) called together as Extended Reality (XR) have become increasingly popular in recent years, offering new opportunities for education, entertainment, and communication. However, the widespread adoption of XR systems has raised concerns about their security and privacy implications. Our work provides analysis of current security and privacy threats, existing mitigation solutions of other research papers and presents the results. We identified common and unique cybersecurity and privacy threats in XR and classified them under confidentiality, integrity and availability and proposed some mitigation considerations. We further explored the risks associated with users and organizations highlighting much on identity theft. In addition, we investigated the existing ethical policies and argued their implementation and proper security and privacy controls will contribute in mitigation of the cyber challenges in XR." @default.
