- W4387011258 abstract "The strong metal-insulating transition and the high magnetoresistance near the Curie temperature make LaxCa1-xMnO3 ceramics it has potential application value in temperature detection, magnetic sensing. In this study, La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 (LCMO) ceramics were prepared via the co-precipitation method using polyethylene glycol-2000 (PEG) as a dispersant. The investigation focused on the influence of PEG content on the crystal structure, electrical transport properties, and magnetoresistance of the ceramics. The dispersant effectively improved particle dispersion during the preparation of the precursor powder, resulting in smaller precursor powder size and enhanced sintering driving force during ceramic sintering. Consequently, the prepared ceramics exhibited larger grain size, improved uniformity, and reduced pore formation, significantly impacting their electrical and magnetic properties. The temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) and magnetoresistance (MR) of the ceramics showed a non-monotonic behavior with increasing PEG content in the range of 0–8%. The TCR and MR initially increased, reaching maximum values of 32.2%·K−1 and 61.7%, respectively, at 4% PEG content. Beyond this point, both TCR and MR decreased.
