- cod;;1:17-cv-01568_de64 RegisterActionDescriptionText "ORDER granting in part and denying in part 60 Unopposed MOTION to Stay Scheduling Order Deadlines and Vacate Trial Setting. The Court vacates the deadline to amend pleadings, which has already passed. The Court will follow the guidance of Rule 15 in assessing any further motions to amend. However, there are still approximately seven months for discovery, nearly nine months before dispositive motions are due, and one year before the trial date. That appears to allow a reasonable amount of time for discovery and trial preparation. I do recommend that as the facts are further developed in discovery, plaintiffs trim off marginal claims. I also recommend that if defendants wish to file a summary judgment motion they consider doing so before October 15, 2018. Otherwise, by the time the motion is fully briefed we will be in late November or early December, thus reducing the opportunity for the Court to address the motion before the holidays. By Judge R. Brooke Jackson on 1/25/18. Text Only Entry (rbjsec. ) (Entered: 01/25/2018)" @default.
