- ilcd;;2:16-cv-02268_de31 RegisterActionDescriptionText "TEXT ORDER: Defendants' motion to extend their deadline for filing a motion for summary judgment on the exhaustion of administrative remedies is granted 28 . The deadline is extended to January 16, 2017. Plaintiff has filed two motions for status, one in which he asks for appointed counsel 19 and one in which he asks for a trial date 23 . Plaintiff's request for counsel is denied 19 , with leave to renew after Plaintiff demonstrates that he has made reasonable efforts to find counsel on his own. Pruitt v. Mote, 503 F.3d 647, 654-55 (7th Cir. 2007). This typically means writing to several attorneys and attaching the responses. If Plaintiff renews his motion for counsel, Plaintiff should set forth how far he has gone in school, any jobs he has held inside and outside prison, and his litigation experience. The Court cannot require an attorney to represent Plaintiff in this civil case. The most the Court can do is ask for volunteer counsel. On a separate matter, Plaintiff's request to set a trial date is denied 23 . A trial date will be set if the case survives summary judgment. Entered by Magistrate Judge Tom Schanzle-Haskins on 12/20/2016. (GL, ilcd) (Entered: 12/20/2016)" @default.
