Geraldine Soat Brown: Plaintiff's motion to extend the discovery deadline [41-1] has been referred to this court [37-1]. Defendants filed a response to that motion [35-1], The motion is granted as follows: fact discovery shall be extended to 07/30/04 for the completion of the following discovery only: the defendants' revised responses to requests to admit (which are to be served on 06/29/04); the depositions of Officers Mieszala, Sricharmorn and Mulligan; and discovery relating to the six officers or former officers listed in plaintiff's counsel's 06/16/04 letter. All other dates previously set by the District Judge, including dates for expert disclosures, shall stand. In order to expedite completion of discovery, counsel for defendant City of Evanston shall serve by fax or deliver to plaintiff's counsel by 07/07/04 a letter stating the last known address of the six officers listed in the 06/16/04 letter, or, alternatively, if defendants' counsel will accept service of a notice of deposition for any one of them, so stating. That letter will be held by plaintiff's counsel "confidential, attorney's eyes only," and the information therein may not be disseminated beyond as necessary to serve a subpoena. If plaintiff wishes to depose any of those officers, the notice or subpoena for that deposition must be served by 07/15/04. No other discovery may be initiated.
