- ilnd;;1:08-cv-07231_de188 RegisterActionDescriptionText "MINUTE entry before Honorable Robert M. Dow, Jr: Before the Court are two motions by Defendants [180, 184] seeking leave to file portions of their motions for summary judgment [176, 182] under seal. As Defendants have acknowledged, the party claiming protection for its confidential information bears the burden of showing: (1) a trade secret or confidential business information; and (2) good cause. Citizens First Natl Bank of Princeton v. Cincinnati Ins. Co., 178 F.3d 943, 944-45 (7th Cir. 1999). The Court has examined the motions and the supporting materials and has given Plaintiffs an opportunity to do so as well. Counsel for Plaintiffs has advised the Court that Plaintiffs have no objection to the motion, and the Court is now satisfied that Defendants have carried their burden under Citizens First and other pertinentauthorities. See, e.g., Baxter Intl, Inc. v. Abbott Labs, 297 F.3d 544, 546 (7th Cir. 2002) (recognizing that information required by statute to be maintained in confidence is entitled to be kept confidential); Hicklin Engg,L.C. v. Bartell, 439 F.3d 346, 348 (7th Cir. 2006) (endorsing the practice of litigants submitting summary judgment briefs in parallel versionsone full version containing all details, and another redacted version with confidential information omitted). Accordingly, Defendants motions for leave to file portions of their motions for summary judgment [176, 182] under seal are granted. Mailed notice (tbk, ) (Entered: 08/19/2010)" @default.
