- ctd;;3:16-cr-00100_de93 RegisterActionDescriptionText "TRIAL AND PRE-TRIAL SCHEDULING ORDER as to 887921E, Jonas Joseph, Frandy Dugue, B875A84, EFDEBEB. Jury selection will be held on October 6, 2016 at 8:30am in Courtroom 3 in New Haven, CT. Evidence will begin on October 17, 2016 at 8:30am, and the trial shall continue each weekday thereafter and conclude by October 21, 2016. Defendant shall file any substantive motions by August 25, 2016, and the Government shall file any response by September 8, 2016. The Government shall disclose to the defense on or before September 22, 2016, an updated list of the witnesses that the Government anticipates calling at trial, and a list of the exhibits that the Government anticipates introducing in its case-in-chief at trial. Any witnesses or exhibits that are not listed on this disclosure may be subject to preclusion at trial absent good cause shown. On September 26, 2016, the parties shall file their trial memoranda, proposed jury instructions, voir dire requests, and any motions in limine. The Court shall hold a pre-trial conference with the parties on September 30, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. Defendants shall file a speedy trial waiver by August 9, 2016. Additionally, based primarily on the representations of defense counsel with respect to the time that is needed to prepare for this case, I hereby exclude for Speedy Trial Act purposes the time from July 11, 2016 to October 6, 2016. I conclude that the ends of justice served by taking such action outweigh the best interest of the public and the defendants in a speedy trial as that term is defined under the Speedy Trial Act, and in making this finding I have specifically considered each of the factors set forth in 18 USC § 3161(h)(7)(B), and here I specifically and primarily rely on defense counsel's good faith representations that such additional time is reasonably necessary for effective preparation of a defense in this matter. It is so ordered. Signed by Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer on 7/26/2016. (Gutierrez, Y.) (Entered: 07/26/2016)" @default.
