- ilnd;;1:05-cv-04320_de18 RegisterActionDescriptionText "MINUTE entry before Judge James F. Holderman : Reference is made to the plaintiff's letter dated 08/04/05 6 . The plaintiff is permitted to amend his complaint once as a matter of course without leave of court at any time before a responsive pleadings is served. See Fed.R.Civ.P. 15(a). However, the court does not permit piecemeal amendments. Furthermore, any amended pleading is subject to a threshold review under 28 U.S.C. 1915A. The plaintiff should conduct some basic legal research prior to drafting an amended complaint, as the court questions whether any of the new causes of action listed in the letter provide separate causes of action under 42 U.S.C. 1983. Finally, the plaintiff is once again reminded that he must provide the court with the original plus a judge's copy of every document filed. In the future, the court may strike without considering any document filed that does not comport with the court's basic filing instructions. The clerk is directed to mail the plaintiff an amended complaint form and instructions along with a copy of this order. Mailed notice (ntf, ) (Entered: 09/16/2005)" @default.
