- ilnd;;1:11-cv-02996_de77 RegisterActionDescriptionText "ORDER : Plaintiff BE59977 alleges that her employer, the Chicago Transit Authority ("the CTA"), denied her a promotion based on her gender in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e, et seq., and violated the Equal Pay Act, 29 U.S.C. § 206 (as amended). After the parties filed cross-motions for summary judgment, the court found that the CTA was entitled to summary judgment on both claims. BE59977 sought reconsideration, arguing that she lost because her retained counsel's performance was subpar. The court granted counsel's motion to withdraw. After providing an explanation of the rules governing summary judgment motions, Loc. R. 56.2, the court allowed BE59977 to re-brief her response to the CTA's motion for summary judgment. The court struck her first set of pro se filings and issued an order specifying the deficiencies with those filings. BE59977 tried again, and the court ordered the CTA to respond to BE59977 second set of pro se filings. For the following reasons, the CTA's re-briefed motion for summary judgment is granted. Signed by the Honorable Joan B. Gottschall on 8/6/2013: Mailed notice (jmp, ) (Entered: 08/07/2013)" @default.
