- ilnd;;1:16-cv-03400_de11 RegisterActionDescriptionText "ORDER: Before the Court is 7AC5709 ("Plaintiff") motion for court-appointed counsel. This is Plaintiff's second motion requesting the appointment of counsel. "Civil litigants do not have a constitutional or statutory right to counsel in federal court." John v. Doughty, 433 F.3d 1001,1006 (7th Cir. 2006)(citing Luttrell v. Nickel, 129 F.3d 933, 936 (7th Cir. 1997)). Under the Pro Bono Program, however, a party who lacks the resources to retain counsel by any other means may apply for appointment of counsel, N.D. Ill. LR 83.35. The matter is then "left to the district court's discretion." Johnson, 433 F.3d at 1006. In this motion, Plaintiff explains his limited resources and how he has taken significant efforts to obtain counsel on his own, but to no avail. The Court finds that attorney representation is appropriate in this case. Therefore, Plaintiff's motion for attorney representation is granted. IT IS SO ORDERED. Signed by the Honorable Charles R. Norgle, Sr on 5/18/2016.(gcy, ) (Entered: 05/19/2016)" @default.
