- ilnd;;1:17-cv-09085_de7 RegisterActionDescriptionText "MINUTE entry before the Honorable Robert M. Dow, Jr: Upon review of the docket and the motions filed by Plaintiff [7, 8], the Court notes that although Plaintiff has paid the filing fee, he has not entered on the docket any returns of service indicating that any of the named Defendants have been served with the summons and complaint. Moreover, the absence of any appearances on the docket by any of the Defendants suggests that they may not have been served. Plaintiff is advised that the time for service of a complaint under the applicable rules is 90 days, but that the Court may extend that time for good cause shown, and often does so for pro se litigants who have difficulty navigating the process. The Court also offers the services of the William J. Hibbler Pro Se Assistance Program on the 20th floor of the Dirksen Federal Building in Chicago, which are available by appointment. To ensure that Plaintiff understands his obligations, this case is set for a status hearing on 5/3/2018 at 9:00 a.m. The Court notes that Plaintiff's address is in Mendota, which is a considerable distance from the courthouse. If Plaintiff wishes to participate in the status hearing by telephone, he should e-mail the Courtroom Deputy at carolyn_hoesly@ilnd.uscourts.gov to make arrangements. Mailed notice (cdh, ) (Entered: 04/19/2018)" @default.
