- W2510151455 abstract "Focused beamforming technology is a high precision passive localization algorithm which is mostly applied in near field. In this algorithm, the received signal is compensated by spherical wave based on different direction and distance in the measurement area in order to obtain the spatial distribution of noise sources. This technology can be used to detect noise distribution of ships and some engines, and to reduce the damping and noise. This technology is also widely applied in ship track monitoring and some other fields. The single line array is usually proposed as the testing model in previous near field localization research. However, when the target location is far from the array locations, the focused apex scale becomes larger and the focused effect becomes worse, which in turn adversely influences the precision of noise location. The post/starboard problem is also a common problem, which means that it cannot be judged whether the noise source comes from the left of the array or from the right side. Based on single line array focused beamforming, the principle and simulation of a twin-line array focused beamforming technique is presented in this paper. In this model, the twin-line array is taken to be a planar array, and the measurement area is laid out between the twin-line array. The measurement area is gradually scanned, and then we compensate the time delay of each transducer to the same reference. If a scanned point's output of different elements reaches the maximum value, then the point is the location of the sound source. Comparing the performance of single and twin-line array focused beamforming, the simulation results show that the twin-line array focused beam technique can improve the effect of target location as regards positioning accuracy, and also that the positioning accuracy is better than single array. Because of the directivity of the twin-line, the port/starboard problem is also solved by this model." @default.
