- W100171565 abstract "Using a practical organizational leadership model that is based on solid management techniques greatly enhances the chance of successfully developing and implementing a new curriculum that fulfills this need and answers the questions it asks. A clear vision of how the curriculum supports the needs of the students, other stakeholders, and society in general as well as conforms to the institution’s values and traditions is critical to success. Thinking strategically about the curriculum provides a framework for the institution’s leaders to effectively use specific design tools and to generate the necessary organizational buy-in to ensure success. Even with this, no project can be successful without strong leadership and execution. Our curriculum change project was initiated in June 2005 and was completed in September 2007. The completely new curriculum is fully implemented with the addition of new courses and a redesign of all other courses, including the introduction of variable online classes where relevant. Also included in this project were faculty training, the implementation of new learning management and ePortfolio systems, and an updated student information system. This was all done with the buy-in and support of the faculty, administrative staff (administration, academics, admissions, marketing, finance, operations, and IT) and our Management Board (the president and heads of each functional unit)." @default.
