- W100172022 abstract "604 Objectives Although it is a powerful prognostic indicator in many cardiac disorders, there is limited data on the effect of posture on LVEF. The study purpose was to determine any difference in LVEF measured in the prone and supine positions using 2 different modalities: GCBPS and MPS. Methods Following informed consent, patients were randomized to either initial prone or supine positioning followed by imaging in the converse position. Resting automated LVEF measurements were obtained in 50 patients undergoing 8 frame gated MPS (8MBq/kg Tl-201, 8 minute acquisition) for evaluation of IHD via ECToolbox on Discovery NM 530c. Semi-automated LVEF measurements were obtained in another 35 patients undergoing GCBPS ( 400MBq Tc99m Pertechnetate,16 frame ) for various conditions via GE EF analysis on Optima NX (GE Healthcare) or Ecam (Siemens). Average heart rate (HR) was also recorded but it was technically more difficult with gated MPS. Paired two tailed t-tests (p Results No significant difference in LVEF was demonstrated between postures on either GCPBS or MPS. Despite similar absolute changes in heart rate between postures, this only reached statistical significance in the GCBPS group (p Conclusions There was no effect of posture on LVEF on both GBPS and MPS.
