Such predictions constitute an integral part of environmental impact assessment of power plant facilities. Different types of receiving waters and discharge modes are discussed. Types of receiving waters include lakes, rivers, estuaries, coastal waters and cooling ponds; discharge modes are surface and submerged discharges.
