• W103474400 abstract "Economic Valuation of Coral Reef Ecosystem in Pombo Island, Maluku Province. Under direction of ACHMAD FAHRUDIN and UNGGUL AKTANI. Pulau Pombo is marine tourism park, area is 1,000 hectar, included land, coral reef and lagoon. The aims of the research are: (1) to assess benefit of coral reef fisheries (producer surplus) to estimating economic value, special of functional role coral reef providing of spawning, nursery and feeding ground to economic coral fish, and (2) to analyze the alternative of management for coral reef resources in Pombo Island, base on economic value from aktivity of coral reef fisheries, to guarantee to get him optimal benefit and sustainable from economic perpective. The method used of respondents is purposive and accidental technique, the number of respondents is 25 deriving from Fishery Household (RTP) of coral reef. To economic valuation is market price method. Scenario without management versus with management done with approach of benefit cost analysis. Observation for coral reef with manta tow method and quadrat method of 1 x 1 m with chopper as far as 50 m coastline parallel and distance between location of transect is 2.5 m. Rechopper 3 times, in reef flat and also in reef slope. Within the quadrat transect, underwater sequential photographs to assess benthic groups and coral reef coverage, dominansi colony and mortality index. The results show that life coral coverage was 11 – 30% in 2 category result of manta tow or life coral coverage was 23.03% (bed status) result of quadrat transect, mortality index was 0.68; and a total of 140 species belonging to 49 genera. Furthermore, economic value of the coral reef in Pombo Island covering 0.6536 km, for spawning ground to Rp 10,812,641, for nursery and feeding ground each to Rp 511,869,222. The result of cost benefit analysis to scenario without management versus with management by doing zonation covering 20% (13 ha), based on a productivity change, in the level of real interest rate 7.34%, estimates NPV to spawning ground of Rp 39,653,211 to Rp 68,491,313 and to nursery and feeding ground each of Rp 2,820,738,177 to Rp 3,388,424,567 without management versus to spawning ground of Rp -261,050,483 to Rp 196,187,044 and for nursery and feeding ground each of Rp 7,783,903 to Rp 6,210,956,923 with management." @default.
