- W1036887659 abstract "The present work suggests a new approach to the study of diffusion limited nitrogen adsorption by zeolites or other microporous materials based on evolution of IR stretching bands of adsorbed nitrogen or of other symmetrical molecules due to perturbation resulting from interaction with adsorption sites. This approach is applied to the study of the diffusion limited adsorption of pure nitrogen and of nitrogen adsorption from the nitrogen – oxygen mixtures by NaA, NaZSM-5, and by Lior NaLSX zeolites. It was concluded that in the nitrogen oxygen mixtures the rate of nitrogen adsorption is limited by counterdiffusion of oxygen and nitrogen in the macropores between zeolite grains or microparticles. The obtained results also demonstrated the weak influence of oxygen adsorption from nitrogen oxygen mixtures by NaLSX zeolite on equilibrium of nitrogen adsorption." @default.
