- W107165086 abstract "Physicians, experts in family planning, public health personnel, and others interested in improving maternal, child, and family well-being should encourage young people to develop a reproductive life plan. A well thought out reproductive plan can help individuals and couples chose contraceptive methods which are most compatible with their needs. Young people can develop a plan on the basis of their answers to a series of questions. They should ask themselves 1) do they want children and if so how many and when do they want them; 2) how would they feel if they could not have any children or if they were faced with an unwanted pregnancy; 3) how do they feel about abortion; 4) how much education do they want; 5) do they want to combine child rearing with a career and if so how do they plan to coordinate these activities; 6) what do they most want to accomplish in life; 7) how compatible are their educational, career, and other goals with their child rearing goals; and 8) how compatible are their reproductive plans with their religious and moral beliefs. If young people gave as much consideration toward developing reproductive life plans as they give toward developing financial life plans, family life would be less stressful than it currently is." @default.
