- W111604180 abstract "Using the supermicroelectrode method, action potentials of the heart muscle of dogs were studied. In the l000 r2000 r (40 kv, 1994.4 r/min) exposed group, no change was seen in potential but slight shortening or prolongation of the potential duration resulted. The threshold dose for the action potential seemed to be about 4000 r, as in 40008000 r exposed animals a diminution of the action potential and resting potential was observed. In the l0000-l8000 r exposed group, the action potential and resting potential both disappeared completely within 60 min after x-ray exposure. Generally, the effect of x irradiation became increasingly pronounced with lapse of time up to one hour after exposure. As regards the temperature of Tyrode's solution, no difference in effects was discernible between the groups of 30 and l5 deg C. (Abstr. Japan Med., 1 No. l3, l961)" @default.
