Las condiciones sociales en las que vive un individuo constituyen factores determinantes de gran parte de las desigualdades en salud que existen entre paises y dentro de los mismos. En este sentido podemos considerar las enfermedades cardiovasculares como ejemplo de la incidencia de estos factores en los que la edad, el genero, estatus socioeconomico, etnicidad y region geografica constituyen diferencias importantes en la exposicion a los denominados factores de riesgo cardiovascular (FRC). El principal objetivo de este estudio consiste en determinar la relacion estadistica entre factores de riesgo cardiovascular considerando la hipertension arterial, diabetes, hipercolesterolemia, consumo de tabaco, consumo de alcohol, obesidad y actividad fisica con los determinantes socioeconomicos de la salud medidos a traves del nivel de estudios, nivel de ingresos y actividad economica. Los resultados principales muestran que existe una interrelacion entre los FRC y nivel socioeconomico especialmente en mujeres, afectando principalmente el consumo de alcohol y el consumo de tabaco. Health is a dynamic status that can be highly influenced by individual and social circumstances. The social situation in what a person lives has a great impact in health inequalities between different countries and in the same one. We consider cardiovascular diseases as an example on how the incidence of the risk factors like age, gender, socioeconomic status, ethnicity and geographic region can have important influences in the exposition to the cardiovascular risk factors. The main aim of this study is to determine the relationship between cardiovascular risk factors (hypertension, diabetes, high blood cholesterol, smoke, alcohol consumption, obesity and physical activity with socioeconomic determinants of health (level of education, income and economic activity). The main results show a high relation between cardiovascular risk factors and socioeconomic status mainly in females affecting alcohol consumption and smoking." @default.
