- W1144145718 abstract "This chapter presents the results of recent studies concerning the chemistry of heterocyclic systems. The interest in phosphorus-containing heterocycles results from a consideration of their purely theoretical aspects such as conformational analysis, tautomerism, and donor-acceptor interactions, and from their continuously increasing importance in the synthesis of new catalysts and biologically active compounds. The chapter essentially describes the heterocycles compounds with P–C–O fragments, the heterocycles compounds with P–C–N F fragments, the heterocyclic compounds with P–C–0–B fragments, and the heterocyclic compounds with P–C=C–B fragments along with their synthesis, reactions, and their conformational features. It also provides a brief description of metal complexes containing P-heterocyclic ligands. The chapter concludes with the discussion of utilitarian aspects. It is noted that functionally substituted phosphines are convenient precursors for the synthesis of heterocyclic systems. 1,3,2-dioxaphosphorinanes, 1 ,3,5-diazaphosphorinanes, 1,3,2,5-dioxasilaphosphorinanes, 1,3,2,5-dioxaboraphosphorinanes, 1,5,3,7-diazadiphosphacyclooctanes, and some other heterocyclic compounds have been obtained on this basis." @default.
