As we mentioned in our article, hand-assisted laparoscopy is a widely used technique in general surgery but has been less frequently used in gynecology. Although we respectfully recognize your early work with the technique in the late 1990s, we felt that it was the recent article by Tuscheva et al in 2013 that provided a renewed interest in the hand-assisted technique in benign gynecology, and, therefore, we decided to highlight it in our case series.
