- W1435532615 abstract "DmRaf was originally cloned by homology with mammalian Raf1. Mutations in DmRaf identify the 1(1)pole hole locus that has been implicated in signaling from both the torso, sevenless, and EGF receptor tyrosine kinases in Drosophila melanogaster. DmRaf contains the three highly conserved domains found in vertebrate Rafs, that is, CR1, CR2, and the kinase domain (CR3). Domains CR1 and CR2 regulate activation of DmRaf. The C110 mutation in the CR1 domain disrupts the interaction with Ras1, but still shows partial activity. Vertebrate homologues of DmRaf include Raf1, A-Raf, B-Raf, and the c-mil protooncogene in birds. The vertebrate functional homologue is Raf1. Other similar vertebrate genes are A-Raf, B-Raf, and the c-mil protooncogene in birds. DmRaf encodes a single 3.3 kb RNA that is ubiquitously expressed throughout development." @default.
