- W1437338902 abstract "Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the synthesis and properties of aminopolystyrene, triethylenetetramine (TETA ) polystyrene resin, amlnopropyl glass and aminoethylaminopropyl glass, β-alanyl-hexamethylenediamine-polydimethylacrylamide resin, N-aminoethyl polyacrylamide resin, and p-phenylene diisothiocyanate ( DITC). Aminomethyl polystyrene can be prepared from chloromethylated crosslinked polystyrene (Merrifield resin) by reaction with ethylenediamine. The swelling properties of this resin were improved by the addition of aryl amino groups. Both supports have been replaced by aminopolystyrene and triethylenetetramine polystyrene, which are now widely used. Supports with a rigid inorganic matrix are prepared by the derivatization of porous glass with aminoalkylsilanes. Supports of this type are 3-aminopropyl glass and N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyl glass. The reaction of these derivatives with p-phenylene diisothiocyanate leads to activated isothiocyanato glasses. Recently two polyacrylamide-based supports have been applied to solid-phase sequencing, a cross-linked β-alanylhexamethylenediamine polydimethylacrylamide designed for solid-phase peptide synthesis and an N-aminoethyl polyacrylamide synthesized from a commercial carboxylic cation exchange resin." @default.
