- W146975851 abstract "Estimation of creep damage under creep-fatigue condition was discussed using 18Cr-8Ni austenitic stainless steel. Tests were carried out at 973K in air. The creep-fatigue wave shapes consisted of load-controlled creep loading (10h) and strain-controlled fatigue cycling (20 cycles). The deformation behavior in the creep period was considerably influenced by the fatigue cycling. The transient creep deformation was larger and the steady-state creep rate was higher than those of constant-load creep, while the fracture mode under the both conditions was about the same. These results revealed that the inserted fatigue cycling mainly affected the creep deformation behavior. The decrease of rupture life in the creep-fatigue condition was explained by the promotion of the creep deformation. When the damage in creep period was calculated using the relationship between the steady-state creep rate and the rupture life of constant-load creep, the predicted life well agreed with the observed one. The damage in creep period which was accelerated by the fatigue cycling was able to estimate using that relationship." @default.
