- W1488797504 abstract "Abstract 1. 1. Purified necrosin prepared from acid inflammatory exudates by a procedure involving treatment with butanol according to Morton and fractionation with ammonium sulphate, is a pseudoglobulin. 2. 2. Necrosin is a protein-splitting enzyme with optimum action at pH 7.7–8.2. Chelating agents that reduce the proteolytic action of trypsin also lower the ability of necrosin to split proteins, although the initial phenomenon of protein peptization caused by either necrosin or trypsin was found resistant to these inhibitors. Skinnecrotic action of necrosin is due to its proteolytic activity. Necrosin is identical with Metchnikoff's macrocytase—the trypsinase of macrophages. 3. 3. A thermostable haemolysin, which was separated from necrosin by organic solvents, is a concomitant of necrosin in acid inflammatory exudates. 4. 4. This haemolvsin of inflammatory exudates—for which the name “Tarasevich's haemolysin” is suggested—is an unsaturated fatty acid. 5. 5. The role of necrosin and of Tarasevich's haemolysin in the pathogenesis of inflammation is discussed." @default.
