The Role of Mathematics Anxiety when Moving from Secondary Education to University Education Affective answers play an essential role in the processes of teaching and learning mathematics. Within this field, one of the constructs that produces more interest is mathematics anxiety. This construct has been frequently related to gender differences between the students population and to the students’ choice of mathematics courses and university degrees depending on the level of mathematics involved.
