- W1489339061 abstract "Recently our group showed that first trimester maternal ophthalmic artery Doppler could be a predictor factor for early-onset pre-eclampsia. The aim of this study is to establish normative data of ophthalmic artery Doppler parameters in the first trimester of pregnancy. Maternal ophthalmic artery Doppler were performed in 251 singleton pregnancies at 11–14 weeks of gestation, presenting consecutively for routine antenatal care in our hospital. The following measurements were obtained: pulsatility and resistance indices (PI, RI), peak systolic velocity (PSV), peak diastolic velocity (PDV) and peak ratio (PR). Quartile regression was used to estimate reference values throughout first trimester of pregnancy. Obstetric and perinatal outcomes was achieved in 214 patients, of whom 181 were healthy pregnancies and were included in our study. Reference ranges for maternal ophthalmic artery Doppler are presented in table 1. There is no significant correlation between Doppler indices and gestational age (11–14 weeks). We have established reference ranges for maternal ophthalmic artery Doppler at 11–14 weeks gestation probably for the first time. These data could be used in prospective studies to analyze the role of maternal ophthalmic artery Doppler in the prediction of early-onset preeclampsia." @default.
