- W1490563094 abstract "The titration of atmospheric minor constituents is at present performed by methods involving infrared absorption spectrometry. Such experiments were recently perform from aircraft and balloon. They aim at establishing the vertical precise distribution profiles of the nitrogen oxides. The analysis of these atmospheric spectra needs previous laboratory studies. In this paper, we present a study of the rotational structure of the ν3 band of nitrogen dioxide. The published spectrum extends from 1 588 cm-1 to 1 639 cm-1. It was recorded on a ONERA «dual-rlle» spectrometer with a resolution of 0.06 em-1; the signal/noise ratio is about 50. The wave numbers of the absorption lines are calculated by interpolation between the emission lines of a spectral neon lamp. This interpolation is performed by mean of fringes which are generated by an interferometric gonionmeter. These fringes depend on the rotation of the grating. The analysis of the rotational structure of the band has been caried out by comparing the measured wave numbers to he calculated ones. The line positions have been computed on the basis of the spectroscopic constants given by Bird et al. for the fundamental level. The excited level constants have been calculated from the αi published by Olman and Hause. A list of the identified lines with their wave numbers is given. New values of the spectroscopic constants of nitrogen dioxide are beling computed." @default.
