- W1497018692 abstract "Harmonic power flow analysis requires that the system components are adequately modeled with respect to frequency. Commercially available softwares have varying capabilities. This chapter provides the fundamental basis of modeling of major system components that include transmission lines, cables, filter reactors, transformers, induction motors, synchronous generators, and converters. Cables have higher capacitance than overhead lines; therefore, modeling of cable capacitances is of much significance for harmonic analysis. The zero sequence impedance of the lines and cables is dependent on the current flow through a conductor and return through the ground, or sheaths, and encounters the impedance of these paths. The system impedance to harmonics is not a constant number. The fundamental frequency impedance is inductive, its value representing the stiffness of the system. Three-phase models of transformers with neutral grounding impedances, mutually coupled lines, distributed parameter transposed, and untransposed transmission lines should be possible in the harmonic analysis program." @default.
