La mayor aportacion de nuestro trabajo de investigacion se encuentra en los conocimientos que hemos construido ya que son producto de un proceso de indagacion y construccion realizado conjuntamente con profesores universitarios de tres universidades espanolas y una universidad colombiana. Los datos que aportamos reflejan una vision sobre la calidad de la docencia universitaria vivida como una situacion problema generada por las presiones que exigen a la universidad realizar planteamientos culturales que la pongan en sintonia con la cultura global de calidad. Se argumenta a favor de la idea de que en el reconocimiento y la renovacion de las concepciones docentes se encuentra el camino del mejoramiento continuo de la calidad docente y se abre un espacio para la redefinicion de la docencia como funcion del profesor universitario, en el que se unen las ideas ganadas en nuestra condicion de docentes universitarias, con las seleccionadas de la reflexion critica del estudio concienzudo de una amplia revision bibliografica y, sobre todo, las ideas expresadas por los docentes universitarios con quienes tuvimos la fortuna de dialogar en nuestro proceso de investigacion. Asi, en un primer momento elaboramos en un proceso gradual, sistematico y continuo un primer marco teorico que finalmente resulto enriquecido con el estudio en el que participaron un total de 1200 profesores; gracias a sus aportaciones se abordan cuestiones, problemas y estrategias para encontrar algunas propuestas que nos permitan avanzar en este campo. SUMMARY With this investigation we wanted to participate in the process of search and construction that has begun, characterizing our particularity to of the meaning of quality applied to the University, teaching with the overall objective of highlight the ideas on teaching quality can be drawn from academics assessment processes. Our final goal tries to encourage revision of educational policies and on teaching and teaching evaluation culture enrichment. The greatest contribution of our research work is in the knowledge that we have built that are the product of an inquiry and construction process carried out jointly with three Spanish universities and a Colombian university academics. The data we reflect a view on the quality of University teaching lived as a problem situation generated by pressures that require the University to perform cultural approaches that put it into line with the global culture of quality. Argues in favour of the idea that the recognition and the renewal of the educational ideas found the road to the continuous improvement of teaching quality and opens a space for the redefinition of teaching as a function of the College Professor, joined the ideas gained in our University, teachers with the selected critical reflection of the thorough study a comprehensive literature review and, above all, the ideas expressed by the lecturers with whom we had the fortune of dialogue in our research process status. Thus, initially, drew up a first theoretical framework that was finally rich with the study involving a total of 1200 teachers in a gradual, systematic and continuous process; through their contributions addressed issues, problems and strategies to find some proposals that will enable us to make progress in this field.
