- W1503830441 abstract "1019 Learning Objectives 1. Understand why there is a need for Technologist or Nurse Led stress testing. 2. Illustrate what advantages and disadvantages it has over Doctor led stressing. 3. Be aware of what elements are provided in a training program. 4. Learn about what forms of assessment are used. 5. Discuss the past and future of tech led stressing, and appreciate what impact it has had on the cost effectiveness of myocardial perfusion imaging and the utility of staff. Why non doctor stressing? Cost pressures and restricted availability of stressing staff has limited the use of myocardial perfusion imaging. Stress testing training of non-medical staff was one way to address this critical need. The training course has also enabled more effective utilisation of medical staff and a reduction of cost. No adverse events have been reported as a result of technologist and nurse led stressing. The poster will also detail the prerequisites for training, the details of assessments needed and the topics covered in training. References: Greig, J. Williams, R.
