- W1507823360 abstract "Numerical simulations for open-die forging process are conducted with different values of manipulator kinematic stiffness and press velocity. The influences of manipulator kinematic stiffness and press velocity on acceleration of jaw end are investigated. In contact and separation stages of a forging operation, acceleration of jaw end is nearly proportional to acceleration of the contact surface between upper die and workpiece; in deformation stage, acceleration of jaw end does not decrease as manipulator kinematic stiffness increases and it increases with press velocity. The ideal kinematic stiffness of manipulator should be close to zero, which leads to minimized forces exerted on the manipulator during deformation stage. The conclusion in this paper can be a reference for the design of manipulator." @default.
