- W1516384680 abstract "The microwave spectra for the J = 2 ← 1 and J = 3 ← 2 transitions were measured and analyzed for two isotopic species of NF3 in the excited vibrational states. The ν4 and ν2 + ν4 satellites showed spectral patterns characteristic of the ℓ-type resonance, with the splitting of the center lines amounting to more than 80 MHz. The theory of Maes and Amat was applied by introducing explicitly the symmetry property of the energy levels. The ζ4 was found to be −0.895 for 14NF3 and −0.888 for 15NF3, respectively. The ν3 satellites also showed the pattern of the ℓ-type resonance, but slight discrepancies found between the calculated and the observed spectra cannot be accounted for unless the third-order terms are taken into consideration. The quadratic potential constants were determined from the observed values of ζ4 and the isotope shifts of the vibrational frequencies, Δν1 and Δν3: F11 = 6.14 ± 0.15 md/Å, F12 = 0.844 ± 0.04 md, F22 = 2.41 ± 0.05 mdÅ, F33 = 3.39 ± 0.05 md/Å, F34 = −0.45 ± 0.03 md and F44 = 1.67 ± 0.02 mdÅ, respectively." @default.
