- W1518597787 abstract "Recently, several designed D- and L-chiral self-assembling peptides have been shown to undergo conformational transformation under temperature and pH influences, and they provide further evidence that the secondary structures are flexible to their environmental conditions. Inspired from the first self-assembly peptide, we not only subsequently expanded designer materials using 20 natural L-amino acids, but also developed various applications in many areas including (i) 3-D tissue cell cultures, (ii) cell and tissue engineering, (iii) control drug delivery and regenerative medicine and (iv) trauma emergency. Here, from a methodology angle, we focus on the self-organizing amyloid assembly peptides designer principles, structure transition and their versatile applications. This work would inspire biologists, medicine engineers and clinical doctors to carry on more work in the area of Alzheimer's disease provide insight into the mechanism and conquer the world problem quickly." @default.
