- W1522793949 abstract "This chapter discusses the cortical unit activity and motor act programming. In a study described in the chapter, according to the relevance of visual stimuli, neurons from the frontal lobe (s.principalis) revealed two types of firing patterns. The first type demonstrated stable rearrangements of unit activity to repeated presentation. In this case, stimuli directly or indirectly were connected with the motivational sphere of the animal signaled danger or were concurrent with a strong orienting response. The second type habituation was observed in the case when stimuli presented were indifferent or familiar to the animal. Both response types differed in the same neurons. More evident is the fact that the plasticity of multisensory convergence onto the frontal lobe neurons, its range and stability are determined by the relevance of external stimuli according to the dominant motivation." @default.
