Microstructure and mechanical properties of advanced High–Strength Steels (aHss) Abstract The characteristic of this novel group of steels is done on literature source bases. Chemical composition and mechanical properties of representatives of different groups of these steels is presented. Advanced High-Strength Steels are increasingly used in the automotive industry and in the construction of heavy machines. The mechanical properties and toughness of these steel permit to design lighter and high strength structures with previously unattainable possibilities. Weldability of these steels is defined as a good. Due to a plain chemical composition and small amount of alloying elements, possibility of welding method and parameters selection is large and allow use well known resistance spot welding as well as MMA, GTA and GMA methods." @default.
