- W152648916 abstract "A distance sensor, which can measure a distance and is expected to be used with industrial robots in factories is introduced in this paper. The distance between the sensor and an object is measured by using the principle of tri angul ati on. This sensor can be simply realized because it consists of a gas laser, two photo-transistors, a synchronizing motor, and a single-board-micro-computer. It is also realized to let an arm on which this distance sensor is installed keep a constant distance apart from an object, even if the arm or the object is moved and the distance between them is changed, by controlling the arm using information from measured distances. This experiment shows that it can work in painting and welding fields. Since an arm is locally controlled only by this distance sensing system, to connect it with other sensing systems is also possible." @default.
